Do I Need This?
What services does Neil Care Advocates provide?
We provide personalized geriatric care management for seniors and their families — including assessing needs, building a care plan, coordinating medical appointments and home care, and advocating for your loved one across the healthcare and social service systems.
How do I know if my loved one needs a Care Manager?
If you're noticing missed medications, frequent hospital visits, a decline in home cleanliness or hygiene, or if you're feeling overwhelmed trying to coordinate care from a distance, it's a good time to talk. A care management consultation can help you get clarity on what's actually needed — even if the answer ends up being "not yet."
My parent doesn't think they need help — can you still assist us?
Yes, this is a common situation we help with. We approach these conversations with patience and respect for your parent's independence, often starting with a smaller, low-pressure first step rather than a big change all at once.
What if my siblings and I disagree about care decisions?
Disagreements between family members are common, especially when everyone is stressed and worried. We offer family mediation to help everyone get on the same page, focused on your loved one's well-being rather than old family dynamics.
Getting Started
What happens during the first consultation?
We'll spend time understanding your loved one's situation, your concerns, and your goals. There's no obligation — it's simply a chance to see if we're a good fit and to give you some initial guidance either way.
How quickly can you start working with us?
We know these situations often feel urgent. In most cases we can schedule a consultation within 1-3 days, and begin building a care plan from there.
Joshua and Thalles each have 10 Years of experience working with older adults. Joshua is a Social Worker and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Thalles is a nurse and has experience as a caregiver and has worked in a variety of care settings, like assisted living. We bring hands-on experience in healthcare navigation, chronic condition management, and family advocacy.
What are your qualifications?
Will the same Care Manager work with us throughout, or does it change?
You'll have a consistent point of contact who gets to know your family and your loved one's needs, rather than a rotating team of strangers.
Cost & Logistics
How much does Care management cost?
We offer a free initial consultation to understand your situation. From there, our services are available on an hourly basis — we'll walk you through pricing clearly before any work begins.
Do you accept insurance, or is this an out-of-pocket service?
Care Management is generally private-pay and not covered by Medicare or private insurance. We help many clients understand and access Medicaid, Medicare, and other benefits they may be eligible for as part of our work together.
We're based in Seattle and serve clients throughout King & Snohomish Counties. We're able to support out-of-town family members coordinating care for a loved one locally.
What areas do you serve?
How often will you meet with my loved one?
This depends entirely on your care plan — some families need weekly check-ins, others need us mainly on-call for coordination and emergencies. We'll set a rhythm together that fits your situation.
